Welcome
Welcome to the Fellowship application portal for California Climate Action Corps (CCAC)! We are thrilled to have you here.
California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) is an AmeriCorps service program and part of a California statewide initiative to address and mitigate the effects of climate change. This climate-focused workforce development program places Fellows with organizations across California to engage communities in taking real, hands-on climate action. Through education, volunteer events, and community projects, Fellows help drive progress in three key focus areas:
Urban Greening: Expanding green spaces to cool neighborhoods, improve air quality, and create healthier, more climate-resilient communities through projects like tree planting, community gardens, and native landscaping.
Wildfire Resiliency: Protecting homes, schools, and natural areas by reducing fire risk—teaching traditional Indigenous burning practices, supporting home hardening efforts, and organizing fuel reduction projects.
Organic Waste Diversion: Preventing methane emissions and reducing landfill waste by recovering edible food for those in need and building local composting systems that turn food scraps into climate solutions.
Together, fellows and their host organizations are building cleaner, cooler, and more resilient communities across California.
CCAC is currently accepting applications for the Winter 2026 Fellowship—January 21 – September 11, 2026. Applicants can select up to 5 preferred positions within the application. All candidates must attend a mandatory information session to advance in the process and be eligible for interviews. If you're ready to take the next step in the recruitment process, or are just interested in learning more about the CCAC program, please register for an info session today.
